Announcement of continued support for COD4 Frontlines

Postby Terablo on Tue Oct 20, 2009 2:21 pm

Hello my friends...

since IW will not let me make a Frontlines to MW2, I'll make what I was
saving for MW2 into COD4, and also probably a Frontlines version to W@W
too.

5.2 will have few changes into Waves and Battlefront gametypes to avoid
people play Hide & Seek instead of hold the line, and also 2 brand new
gametypes, aside few other nice surprises...

almost all of them are already finished or in the last steps to be
completed, so the wait will not be big...

any Zillion fans here? you will be pleased! :D

Thank you very much for this update. I think its good news that you will continue support for COD4 especially due to the recent MW2 announcements.

I am just afraid about:
5.2 will have few changes into Waves and Battlefront gametypes to avoid
people play Hide & Seek instead of hold the line,

Could you please make those changes configurable like you have with most things? As for example on our server we actually play Waves with the objective of Hide & Seek which is wicked fun. Would be nice if the reinforcement chopper could be turned off in the configs as well.

Regarding Wrath (my favorite game type) I would like to see some changes that reward knifing. The problem is you sometimes have some people which never even attempt to knife someone. So we had to drastically reduce the time limit to force the knife only sudden death. Also nice would be a way to punish or remove team damage from Wrath, a way to stop people from suicide when in last stand. Maybe a -20 or -30 point loss would be enough.

There are two "bugs" with Wrath.
1: If there is any weapon mode active the Frontlines Last Stand perk will not work making it very hard to knife people.
2: After one round the winning team will get all points of both teams (which is good), however after the second round the winning team will get the points of the loosing team that includes the first round points. This means if you have more than one round the overall winner will always be the team that wins the last round. I think there is another game mode where round scores are saved to a total score counter then reset correctly for each round. Could be flags where it works correctly.

Thank you very much for all your hard work and time you put into Frontlines.

This is the reason why the PC community is so ace. We can host our own custom servers with whatever configuration we like to play. Thank you Activision for further destroying this with MW2.

Regards,

thanks for your words and inputs...

was added a flag into Waves and Battlefront, that you need 1min to conquest...
I'll add an option to turn it off, don't worry... about the chopper I can do it too, no problem.

about Wrath...

1. yeah, with weapon modes you can't let the enemy wounded in the ground, so is more hard to stab them, I'll add an option to Wrath to let you force all Weapons if is loaded, or you will really need to stab standup players.

2. the counting will be saved like Flags...

3. about people that suicide to not get killed, I was thinking in a worst punishment, he will not comeback like he was killed by a knife... I think will be a lot more effective... :D

I did the tests of the Zillion Mode yesterday, was REALLY great and funny!

thanks again! cheers! :P
